That request matters. The Church can celebrate an answered prayer without demanding access to every detail of the answer. Trauma recovery is not content. It is slow, personal work that deserves patience, skilled care and faithful community.
The Mission in Niger Is Still Before Us
Rideout's release also turns attention back toward Niger, where violent extremist groups have increased the danger for local communities and Christian workers. SIM has served for more than 130 years, yet Rideout was the first hostage in the organization's history. His ordeal is a reminder that global mission includes real families who accept real risk in order to live among and serve people they love.
The strongest response is not curiosity. It is sustained intercession: for Kevin and Krista, for their family, for Niger, for local believers, for wise security decisions and for every worker serving where the name of Jesus is costly to carry.
An answered prayer is not the end of our responsibility; it is an invitation to keep covering the person, the family and the mission in patient love.
