Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang ordered security agencies to shut down unauthorised activities by a group reportedly operating as Hisbah — Islamic religious enforcement — in his state. He warned plainly that anyone attempting to enforce Islamic rules there would be stopped.
Plateau State sits in the heart of the Middle Belt, where the fault lines run hottest. An order like that is not symbolic. It is a governor stating that the rule of law, not religious enforcement, governs his state.

Nigerian believers are not asking to be pitied. Many of the pastors serving in the most dangerous districts have chosen to stay when they had the means to leave. What they ask for, consistently, is prayer that is specific and advocacy that is stubborn.
Nigeria carries roughly seventy-two percent of the world's Christian martyrdom. This is the persecuted church's largest, longest-running emergency — and it needs prayer that is specific and advocacy that does not get bored.
Biblical Perspective
Revelation shows the martyrs under the altar, and they are not silent — they cry out, and God answers them. Their blood is not wasted, their names are not lost, and their cause is not forgotten in heaven even when it is forgotten on earth. Tertullian's ancient observation still holds: the blood of the martyrs is seed.
