From Cane Ridge to Jerusalem: Communion 250 Gathers 156 Sites at Once
Three days of communion, worship and evangelism marked America's 250th year — including a field near the site of the 1801 Cane Ridge revival
The short answer
Communion 250 was a three-day global communion observance from 24 to 26 September 2026, marking the United States' 250th year, held at 156 sites across all US states plus locations including Jerusalem, Puerto Rico and the Middle East, according to CBN News. Organisers included Awaken The Dawn (David Bradshaw), Rick Curry's ministry, Lou Engle of The Call and Dean Briggs Ministries; one gathering met in Renfro Valley, Kentucky, near the area of the 1801 Cane Ridge revival.
For three days, from **24 to 26 September**, Christians gathered at **156 sites** — in every US state, and in Jerusalem, Puerto Rico and the Middle East — for extended services of communion, worship and evangelism under the name **Communion 250**.
The occasion was America's 250th year. The emphasis was the cross.
Who Organised It
Communion 250 brought together several prayer and revival ministries: **Awaken The Dawn**, led by **David Bradshaw**; **Rick Curry**'s ministry; **Lou Engle**, founder of The Call; and **Dean Briggs Ministries**, along with local pastors at each site.
Cane Ridge, 225 Years Later
One gathering met in Renfro Valley, Kentucky, in the region associated with the **Cane Ridge revival of 1801** — the camp meeting that became one of the defining moments of the Second Great Awakening. Participants gathered around an 80-foot red cross painted on a field.
*"We're believing God for a mighty move of God all over the nation,"* Curry said, *"and we're just excited about communion right here in the beautiful Renfro Valley."*
The choice of place matters. Cane Ridge began as a sacramental gathering — a communion season — that drew crowds nobody had planned for. Returning to that region to gather around the Lord's Table is a deliberate echo.
Why Communion
There is something fitting about marking a nation's anniversary not with a rally but with the Lord's Supper. Communion is the one act every Christian tradition shares, and it points away from the nation to the cross — which is where the church's hope has always rested.

Communion 250 gathered believers at 156 sites across America and abroad, including near Cane Ridge — where the 1801 revival itself began as a communion gathering.
Biblical Perspective
Jesus gave the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of His death until He comes, and Paul calls it a proclamation of the Lord's death. The early church broke bread together as one of its four marks. A gathering built around communion keeps the focus where Scripture puts it: on the cross, not on the nation.
"For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes."
— 1 Corinthians 11:26 (NIV)
Pray With Us
Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross. As believers gathered around Your table across this nation and beyond, let their hope rest in You and not in any nation. Do in our day what You did at Cane Ridge. Amen.
