700 Students Choose Jesus at Appalachian State — and 100 Are Baptised That Night
UniteUS brought its campus revival to Boone, North Carolina this week. The tour's next stops: South Alabama on 27 October and Belmont in Nashville on 10 November
The short answer
According to God Reports, citing figures UniteUS gave CBN News, more than 700 students made decisions to follow Jesus at a UniteUS outreach at Appalachian State University's Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina this week, and about 100 were baptised immediately afterwards. Tonya Prewett and Jennie Allen spoke. UniteUS's next events are at the University of South Alabama on 27 October and Belmont University in Nashville on 10 November.
Two weeks ago, when we covered UniteUS at the University of Miami, the campus tour's next stop was Appalachian State. This week it arrived.
What Happened
At Appalachian State University's Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina, more than 700 students made decisions to follow Jesus, and about 100 were baptised immediately afterwards, according to figures UniteUS gave CBN News, reported by God Reports.
"UniteUS reports 700+ students chose to follow Jesus at Appalachian State and about 100 were baptised that night — the latest stop in a campus movement that says it has reached 100,000+ students since 2023."

In the Students' Words
Students posting afterwards described it in plain terms. One wrote that there was "nothing more beautiful than watching people publicly declare their faith through baptism." Another: "God was so present last night. Best night ever!" Others called it a "life changing night."
The Bigger Picture
UniteUS began its campus movement on 12 September 2023. It now reports reaching more than 100,000 students across more than 20 campuses. This season alone we've reported on Pepperdine, Miami and now App State.
The numbers are UniteUS's own, and the real test of any revival is what happens in the months after the water — which is exactly the question our guide on why so many people are getting baptised in 2026 takes on. But 700 decisions in one night on a state university campus is worth celebrating, and worth praying into.
What's Next
- 27 October — University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama
- 10 November — Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee
Pray for the new believers at App State — that they find local churches and friends to walk with them — and for the nights still to come.

Biblical Perspective
At Pentecost, "those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day" — and the very next verse describes what made it last: "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:41–42).
"Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."
— Acts 2:41 (NIV)
